A fire sprinkler system is an automatic active fire protection method. They are generally located at ceiling level, connected with the system of water pumps and tanks. Each individual sprinkler head is triggered automatically due to the rise in heat the predetermined temperature reaches causing a glass component (bulb) heat sensing device bursts and water flows through the Sprinkler Systems under pressure directly on to the fire affected area. Since sprinklers use only about one-sixth of the water from a fire hose, the collateral damage is minimal.
Sprinkler Systems help to reduce the growth of a fire. Fire sprinklers are extensively used worldwide, with over 40 million sprinkler heads fitted each year.
